Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling In The Toes Post Injury
Hello doctor I just wanted to ask you about a condition regarding my mother She fell down while walking a few weeks ago, and at that time, she fell on her pinky, causing it to go red, swell, and cause her pain. Currently, she doesn t feel pain, but it looks like there s a strange inflammation on the side of the pinky (no redness, pinky still looks straight). What is causing this swelling?
Hi, Swelling is mostly due to accumulation of fluid in the surrounding tissue due to inflammation. It is a post injury response, it will subside within a few days and is nothing to be worried about. Go for an X-ray if pain is present or the swelling isn't subsiding to rule out hairline fracture. Thank you for referring to this forum. Regards.
