Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling In The Toes

My toenail broke off, down to the quick, on one side about a week ago. It just began to swell, turn red, ooze a little, and hurt. Is there a soak or home treatment that will help? How do I know it is infected or serious enough to see my doctor? I have type II diabetes, hypertension, psoriasis (treating with Cosentyx).

Hello, it is infection in the toe and since you are a diabetic it should be taken more seriously than others. I would suggest you to try application of local antibiotics if pain still continues systemic antibiotics may be warranted.Hope this helps
Best wishes
