Suggest Treatment For Redness And Tenderness In Gums After Molar Extraction
I just had a molar extracted three days ago, bottom right side. It was a very simple extraction. The wound itself doesn t hurt but I had some redness and tenderness in the gum line below the extraction site. Is this noraml or should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The pain at the site of extraction is due to pricks for anesthesia and possibly handling of the gum tissue while extraction. Please don't worry. Continue with the medicines advised and do hot saline gargles after each meal. Do not miss follow up visit to dentist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
