Suggest Treatment For Redness In Eyes And Sensitivity To Light
I poked myself the eye 2days ago. I poked it pretty hard but I think my lid was closed. I don t have blurry vision but it s still red, it hurts a lot and the sensitivity to light has gotten worse. Should I see a doctor or will it get better over time?
Eye pain and sensitivity to the lights after eye trauma are an indication of corneal damage. The cornea is the first eye structure through which the light goes to reach the back of the eye and produce the vision. So, damages to the cornea and scarring tissues there may affect the vision in the long term. I would recommend you to see the doctor and evaluate if there is a small scratch there or a larger laceration. The doctor will have to decide if you need eye drops to prevent infection and also if you need to patch your eye or if further and more advanced treatment is needed.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
