Suggest Treatment For Redness, Swelling And Pain On The Nose

over the past 4 days, my nose has become increasingly swollen, red and very painful to the touch, all the way up the right side of my nose to the inside corner of my eye. There is nothing visible on the outside such as a scratch or a cut. I m not having any trouble breathing through my nose, no drainage. Is it possible to have an abcess on the inside of your nose? or what else could be going on inside just the right nostril?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, it is possible for an abscess to form in the nostrils. They can form in any area of the body.

It is possible that one of the turbinates (structures in the side wall of the nose) is enlarged and infected.

It would be best to see your doctor for assessment. He or she would be able to take a look inside your nose.
Treatment may consist of a combination of antihistamines, decongestants, antibiotics.

Pain medication , since the pain is severe, may also be needed.

I hope this helps
