I have had recurrent rheumatic fever over past 10years, went on Zithromax for 5years now still reoccurs 4x a year with fever/sweets/nausea/vomiting/weightloss/decreased appitite/ WBC 18 current/red scaly rash to face and arms/hot skin where rash is/severe h/a/neck pain/weakness/trouble sleeping/diarrhea. the list tends to go on. Any suggestions. Only few days left of my atb Zithromax, which I had as several refills over the past few years PRN symptoms, no insurance at the time d/t job changes/relocations.
* The rheumatic fever is a long term sequence of previous streptococcal infection in childhood ( either partially treated or else ) when it affects particularly valves of the heart via vegetation development or else over joint regions.
* The recommended measures are of use of Penicillin prophylaxis for the same for long term duration till age of 21 years.
However, the details of onset of childhood episode, all treatment details so far upto current period and last fresh reports of lab indicating ESR, CRP and antibodies levels are mandatory to discuss further regarding the issue.
