Suggest Treatment For Rib Pain And Shortness Of Breath
hi. i am 20 years old i have been having some rib pain and shortness of breath and pain in my chest it feels like my heart and i have been shaking and not sleeping. i do smoke. i smoke 3-4 ciggarettes a day and ive been smoking since i was 17. but i have a history of panic attacks and i havent slept in almost a week can you help me?
Please stop smoking or at least try to stop it. Immediately you need to go for a chest x-ray and or CT scan to look for underlying problems. For the time being you can start some breathing exercises to regain some damaged alveoli in your lungs.
Smoking can reduce oxygen uptake by lungs and excessive strain on chest muscles to actively transport gases to n fro from lungs. Do not try too many medicines without proper verification of underlying problem. You can consult a Chest physical or pulmonologist for better care.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. M Zahoor Bhat
