Suggest Treatment For Right-sided Abdominal Pain While Having Gallbladder Disease

I have had a pain in my right side for a long time now. It comes and goes like I have episodes. It has been fairly mild for a while now, but yesterday it started again and is sharp and painful and sometimes takes my breath away. I had my gallbladder out 22 years ago but it feels like I am still having attacks. Any ideas?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have right-sided abdominal pain while having gallbladder disease. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like appendicitis , crohn's disease , diabetic ketoacidosis , irritable bowel syndrome , hiatal hernia , kidney infection or gallbladder disease . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , stool test , physical examination and may refer you to nephrologist for kidney problem . Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , laxative , ornidazole . Doctor may also recommend removal of gallbladder . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
