Suggest Treatment For Right Sided Flank Pain

I am having a pain (feels more like a catch) in my right side. This came on about an hour ago, and it hurts to take a deep breath. I have been constipated for a few days, but have had some movements each day, although it was knots......but lots of them. Could I have locked bowels? Or does it sound like something simple.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely you are having constipation. If you are able to move some bowel and gas then serious problems related to bowels being locked are unlikely.

You can take some lactulose syrup or bisacodyl tablets to help with constipation (do not use the last one very often as it might cause dependence), drink plenty of fluids, take supplemental fiber with diet. You should see improvement within 1-2 days. If no improvement or any worsening please see your doctor.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj,
