Suggest Treatment For Right-sided Swollen Lymph Node On Neck

I have a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck half way between my head and shoulders. I have no pain or tenderness, no cold or fever. I took antibiotics and a steroid which made it shrink but come right back when I was finished. It has now been there for a couple of months. I have previously had surgery to remove an acoustic neuroma on my left side, though I don t think it is related. My doctor has ordered blood work and a CT scan. Could this just be a dental issue even though I don t have any problems with my teeth or mouth?

Hello,

Right sided swollen lymph nodes is indicative that your lymphatic system is working to rid your body of factor causing you illness. Swelling often appears near an infection to help your body fight it. You are suggested to take rest and stay well hydrated. Take plenty of water and juices to help your body recover. Warm compress may help. For relieve you can take analgesics to reduce inflammation and swelling. Get clinically examined by a GP, get all blood workouts and investigations done.

Get imaging tests done to detect the factor (lymphoma, glandular fever, malignant lymph node or cancer, etc.) causing the swelling, get it treated at the earliest. Sometimes, the swelling can be due to ear infection, sore throat, tonsillitis, cough and high temperature. You will be treated accordingly. Avoid addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
