General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
If he does not have any problems with the Varicocele then nothing needs to be done. It can cause pain, heaviness or sometimes low sperm count and lead to infertility. Surgery is usually done when it leads to infertility or pain. If both these things are not there then treatment is not required.
It gets better because during sexual activity the blood flow increases and the blood in the dilated veins is drained out and they become empty leading to relief.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
