Suggest Treatment For Ring On The Gluteus Maximus

Hi ! Developped a bad bite on my left posterior gluteus maximus and it had a ring around it. Have been placed on a 6 week course of antibiotics. Have been on antibiotics for 4 days. The MD never did a titer . Is it too late to do a titer ? I have no symptoms of lyme disease. Not toleratting the antibiotics well. Thanks for your time - Mary

Hello,

As per your case history, you are suffering from a fungal infection called as Tinea Corporis.

My treatment advice is:
1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. Apply an antifungal cream like Clotrimazole cream twice daily on affected skin.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral Fluconazole, Itraconazole and Terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
