Suggest Treatment For Ringing In Ears And Bruises Post Accident

I had a car accident two days ago. I have bruises from the seat belt across my left shoulder, chest, and abdomen. They checked me at the hospital because I had blood in my urine. They did a cat scan and found internal bruising. Today I have a low grade fever. I also have ringing in my ears. They say it is from the airbags. Is a fever normal?

Hello,

No, cannot say in your particular case, but generally, fever indicates infection but it can JUST be irritation from blood in the bruise decomposing.

That is going to be a very colorful bruise in that case. checking the blood count that it doesn't go too far down about every 1-2 days would be the usual plan.

Ringing in the ears after a concussion or even JUST after an explosion (airbag) is

1) the usual case and

2) goes away on its own

BUT it can be blood behind the eardrum or an ear infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
