Good afternoon. I am a 57-year-old white female, post-menopausal (last cycle 8/2004). I had the flushing of pre-rosacea back in January 2005, but just within the last 2 weeks or so I am noticing little bumps (not squeezable pimples like teenage acne). My skin is excruciatingly sensitive, so a lot of commercial chemical preparations are out the window. What is a good rosacea treatment that will not irritate my skin further? I can t stay on Minocin indefinitely. The flesh under the skin of my cheeks is sore like I have a 4-day sunburn...
As per your case history of Rosacea, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30. 2. Apply a clindamycin gel like Glocin twice daily on the affected skin. 3. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
