Suggest Treatment For Rotten Teeth Due To Being On Treatment For Marfan Syndrome
I have a condition called Marfan Syndrome. The medication they have me on has rotted my teeth from the inside out and now only have 4 left. The docs are worried because I have had 3 lung and 2 open heart surgeries and I can't find anyone to give me dentures. The thing that scares my doctors (all 5 of them) is if an affection gets in the open wounds in my mouth then my heart could get infected and I could die. I am 44 but can't find a dentist who will touch me and I can't afford it being on disability unless I get on a payment plan. I am in Az. Any ideas?? I really need help because I am scared. Thank you!
Thanks for your query . It is very difficult for most of the dentist to treat patients of marfan syndrome .
So i would suggest yu to visit some university center or medical center where the entire team of doctor s is available along with dentist to avoid risk of endocarditis.
Because the dental procedure in this should be carried out institutionally where every doctor is available to handle the unexpected complication.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
