Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have what appears to be a rug burn around the outside of my armpit under my left arm. I don t recall carrying anything under my arm that could have caused this and certain parts of it is really painful. I have been treating it with neosporine. I just don t know what could have caused it.
This rug burn, could be related to a skin infection or local inflammation. Are you overweight? Do you sweat a lot? I recommend using locally an oxide zinc cream. If this does not help, consulting with a dermatologist is necessary.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
