General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
RSV is a virus growing in respiratory tract. It's treatment consists of controlling fever, body ache with drug like Acetaminophen. Drink warm water, warm saline gargles and vapor inhalation would help. Associated running nose can be treated with Tab. Allegra at bed time for three days. Thick nasal discharge indicates antibiotic along with the treatment and dose, according to doctor's advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
