Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last December, my toddler tried to take his older brother's temp with a thermometer. Only it wasn't an ear thermometer. Popped his eardrum. It did gradually heal up. If I look in his ear, the eardrum is shiny and not red. BUT there is still a large black scab over nearly half of the eardrum and extending a bit into the ear canal. Tried peroxide to see if it was just a wax clump now, but it really does seem to be a scab. He complains that it feels like something is poking his eardrum. The pediatrician said he wasn't really sure what could be done...Any suggestions?
in my opinion, that scab material is nothing but wax. some times it is difficult to diagnose d problem by naked eye.u need to see en ent surgeon who will see with otoscope, which gives information of old injuries as well as fresh wax.
