Hi,

Scabies typically involves the following steps:
* Prescription Medications: A topical cream or lotion containing permethrin, which is the most common treatment for scabies. It should be applied to the entire body from the neck down and left on for the specified duration before rinsing off.
* Antihistamines: Over-the-counter antihistamines can be used to help relieve itching, which is a common symptom of scabies. These medications can be taken orally to reduce itching and promote better sleep.
* Wash Clothing and Bedding: It's important to wash all clothing, bedding, and towels that have come into contact with the infested person in hot water and dry them in a hot dryer to kill the mites.
* Vacuum and Clean the Environment: Vacuum your home thoroughly, paying attention to areas where the infested person has spent time. This helps remove any mites that may have fallen off the body. Additionally, it's important to regularly clean and disinfect surfaces that may harbor mites.
* Treatment for Contacts: It is crucial to identify and treat all close contacts, including family members, sexual partners, and anyone who has had prolonged skin-to-skin contact with the infested person. This helps prevent re-infestation.

Please note that scabies is a notifiable disease and you need to notify it to public health authorities.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
