Okay so at first there was just one tiny bubble on my leg so I just popped it and went on with my life. After a while it turned into this large scab on my thigh and it was peeling. After a while there was another so I popped it again and it turned into the same thing. A giant scab with peeling skin. Now it s all over my thigh, back of my thigh, calf, knee and it s even spreading to my other leg??? Please help its getting worse and worse

Hi,

Vesicular (blistering type) eruptions are seen in many conditions including bacterial infections, viral infections, allergies (less commonly), infections by mites etc. As per the information available, I think you have a bacterial infection of skin which can be cured by taking oral antibiotics like Amoxycillin for 5 days under the advice of your treating doctor.

If there is itching over the area, I would think of scabies which is an infestation by mites and can be easily cured by anti mite lotions/ointments like Permethrin or Benzyl Benzoate lotion applied once all over the body excluding the face and genitalia and a repeat after 2 days. These medicines are easily available over the counter in any medical store. The patient as well as other family members also need to be simultaneously treated for it even if asymptomatic. The diagnostic feature is of scabies is presence of itching and also by its affinity towards affecting the skin over web spaces of fingers.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
