Dear User,

Pain due to disc issues can be very irritating and pestering. Since , you have already mentioned you have a bulging discs , i assume you are getting your information from an MRI spine.

Pain due to kidney stones usually (classically) starts from the loin and radiates to your groin but it might not all the time present like that. Since you mentioned the pain is just above your butt cheek and below the waist line, i also feel the pain is a sciatical pain. Follow the below advice

1) Always keep your spine straight, dont bend suddenly,Also, I suggest you to lie on a flat bed Try losing some weight (If you are overweight)

2) Physiotherapy , usually some thing called as interferntial therapy to back can help to an extent , along with some back strenghthening exercises to keep your muscles strong

3) Regarding Meds, Try a course of Lyrica(Pregabalin) 75 MG (Starting with a single tablet at night ) and if the pain is severe a short course of aceclofenac can help ( But i dont suggest , if you are a diabetic or have kidney or allergy issues )

4) If you are a lady and above 45, its better to take some calcium and vitamin D supplements too..

The Problems due to disc are chronic and i would suggest medications only during episodes of severe pain . Else Lifestyle management can help you a lot.

If nothing is working out. You should be meeting an Orthopaedician.

Those are my two cents.

Hope that helps

Regards
Dr.Samuel
