Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have seborrheic dermatitis from last 5-6 years. and i consulted almost 6-7 doctors till now or may be more.Everyone recommend almost the same treatment like shampoo having ketoconazole, topisal lotion 3% , teczine etc. The main issue is like i am fine if i am continue to use the medicines but again it will come. is there any permanent solution for this problem? Because of this i am loosing my hairs as well. and 1 more question regarding the hair transplant. Can i go for hair transplant ??
This is the only treatment for seborrheic dermatitis. As there is no known cause to seborrheic dermatitis, what we know is that fungal infection are also involved explaining the therapy suggested by your doctor. With regards to hair transplant, first you should understand why your hair is falling. It is due to inflammation of the scalp which is chronic. If you definitely reverse this inflammation, you can go for hair transplant. If it is not possible, even if you go for hair transplant, that won't work due to inflammation. Anyway, close and regular consultation with dermatologist is highly recommended.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. All the best.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
