Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a feeling of senselessness in my right foot ...not all over the foot but to the extreme right of the foot ... that means starting from the little finger till the ankle .. can u please help me out regarding this ..i have this feeling from the past 10 days...
Do you remember when you noticed numbness? Are there any other symptoms like difficulty in walking, numbness in other areas? Are you a diabetic patient?
Since you are having numbness lasting 10 days, it indicates underlying nerve problem. Probably nerve compression. If you are diabetic chances of peripheral neuropathy (degenerative changes in nerves) is more.
Try to identify if you have similar complaint elsewhere in body, mainly legs. Do some light exercise or aerobics to relax your body. Eat healthy food with green leafy vegetables and take vitamin supplements.
If problem persists you can consult your doctor, he will be able to examine you and if required ask for x-ray spine or CT spine or MRI spine to rule out disc prolapse or compression of nerve.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you, Dr. Narasimha G L
