Suggest Treatment For Several Insect Bites On Arms And Legs
I ve got several insect bites on my arms and legs. Intensely itchy, small bubbles filed with light yellowish pus, bites are skin colored immediately around the raised area that surrounded by red circle. Bites have been present for about two weeks with no improvement, Is this cause to visit doctor?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Itching and redness around the site of insect bite are suggestive of allergic reaction against the sting of the insect bite. Collection of pus in the lesions suggests bacterial infection. Drug to prevent allergy was required initially after insect bite to avoid symptoms of itching and pain. However, it can be taken now also to control itching and redness. Collection of pus indicates infection and thus an antibiotic ointment will be required to prevent infection. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and further management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
