Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Cramps And Diarrhea
My mother experiences stomach pains/cramps after I administer her diet or water (to a lesser degree) via her feeding tube. She initially had massive bowel movements/diarrhea. Now she has a more solid, discolored stool. Nevertheless, the primary issue appears to be stomach pain/cramps after feeding her liquids. Please note that these problems began after she had a new feeding tube inserted into her stomach. What can I do to ease her stomach pains/cramps? Thank you.
Diarrheal and infection after inserting tube are common complications to occur. abdominal cramps and change in consistency of stool may indicate some changes in food content or diarrhoea controlled.
For abdominal cramps, you can give tablet dicyclomine which is over the counter drug. Sometimes longtime bedridden patients with the tube may have difficulty in digestion and abdominal cramps are common.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
