Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain Caused After Taking Meal

for about the past month or so I have had a pain in my abdomen right along the bottom left rib towards the center of my chest. The pain is always in the same spot and only after I eat a meal or sometimes even after a cup of coffee. The pain is getting more severe with each onset and does not subside for up to 60-90 minutes. I begin to pass gas and it slowly subsides.

Hello,

I suggest you to change the lifestyle, avoid spicy or fatty foods, sugary drinks or caffeine. Also you can use early in the morning Omeprazole 20mg. If the pain and discomfort persist, I suggest you to make an abdominal ultrasound and consult with gastroenterologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

You are suffering from severe abdominal pain after taking meal. The pain you feel is in the center of your chest and it continues for 60-90 minutes. It subsides after passing gas. You are suggested to stop taking oily spicy food, fried food, trans fat, full fat dairy products, red meat that is hard to digest, do not skip meals. Take home made food, prefer to take boiled food with a dash of olive oil. You can take berries, fruits and veggies that are well cooked. Your symptoms may be indicative of developing ulcer (peptic or esophageal).

You can take Pantoprazole- Pan-40mg, one for 5-7 days for relief from developing acid reflux / gastritis / GERD, etc. However, such symptoms may also be indicative of developing coronary artery disease, CAD. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all required blood tests, CBC, urinalysis and imaging tests done. Your GP may refer you to a cardiologist to get clinically examined and get all Lipid function tests and require imaging tests done. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
