Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain In A Child
my 9 year old daughter is having moderate abdominal pain to the right upper quadrant, with pain to the touch. She has a history of GERD and takes several meds to assist with it as well as Miralax on a daily basis. She just began to have pain within the last hour. She had a bm today, small and soft. What should i do?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your daughter's problem can be due to gastritis. Taking proton pump inhibitors like lanzoperazole for 4 weeks will be helpful. If there is no improvement then consultation with a pediatrician or gastroenterologist should be done to rule out other problems. Better to undergo ultrasound examination also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
