Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain

I am a patient at a pain management clinic, I have a primary doctor and a specialist at the UW (university of Washington) I have had 8 abdominal surgeries and have been in constant pain for over 4 years. The pain management clinic was shut down and I just received the letters 2 days ago and I had a scheduled appointment yesterday which I couldn t obviously go to because they were shut down. I have left a message for my primary doctor and have not received a call back yet. I am in terrible pain and want to know if I go to the ER will they help me until I can call my primary doctor on Tuesday morning

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The ER generally deals with emergencies. In your case, because the pain is unbearable, it is important to access the ER if you can not access your doctor, thus I would recommend you to make use of the ER services.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
