Suggest Treatment For Severe Acne On The Face , Back And Chest Area

my acne is really bad, and I use make up (that is meant for acne) to cover it up a lot, with makeup it looks like I have pretty clear skin, but with out, ive got red bumps everywhere especially on my forehead, lip, and cheeks. ive also got REALLY bad acne on my back and chest area, they get worse when Im on my period. ive used a lot of topical medications and they don t work that well, they only keep my acne from getting worse, but they don t clear it up. My parents wont let me take any medications or birth control pill for it because they say it will mess up my body, they say maybe in 2 years when I am 18. is there any topical gels that will clear up my acne on my face, back, and chest?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe acne on the face , back and chest area. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like hormonal changes , excessive sun exposure , allergic reaction and oily skin . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing salicylic acid twice a day with cold water , after washing face apply cream containing azelaic acid twice a day. You should apply clindamycin gel at night time. Take diet rich in multivitamins. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( clindamycin ) along with retinoids , anti inflammatory and corticosteroid cream .
