Suggest Treatment For Severe Acne
Hello doctor, Please I have a serious worry about this and I will greatly appreciate your prompt response. I started using the pregnacare conception supplement to enable me get ready to try for a baby after my wedding which is in three (3 ) months.after about 26 days of using it I started using another supplement(the evening primrose oil).I immediately started breaking out with severe acne on my face,ear,back and neck;I insisted on taking both but stopped the evening primrose oil after 5 tabs but used up the 30 tabs of the pregnacare conception. The acne persisted and I became more worried which caused me not to continue a new pack of the pregnacare. Even up till now(3-4 weeks after),the acne is still there even though I have tried using several cosmetics/medical acne products.to cure it.I am so worried especially because prior to this,I have never had issues with acne (not even during puberty).please help me! As per your case history of acne, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30.
2. Apply a clindamycin gel-like Glocin twice daily on the affected skin.
3. Don't scratch the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
4. Other treatment options are oral doxycycline, minocycline, and isotretinoin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
