Suggest Treatment For Severe And Persistent High Fever In A Child
My daughter 7 yrs old and 21 Kg is having fever for past 2 days. Doc suspects it to be gastro intestinal related. No other symptoms. Her fever doesn t subside with Crocin DS. We are alternating her Meftal-P (8ml) and Crocin DS (7ml) every 5-6 hrs. Is that fine? How long can we give this combination? Her fever seems to comes back to 101 in 3-4 hrs.
As per your query your daughter is suffering from persistent high fever which seems to be due to poor immunity of the body and it could be a co infection caused by viral or bacterial infection.
Need not to worry. You should maintain complete hygiene. You should do tepid sponging to lower down fever. Meftal and crocin alternate for long time is not a good combination. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined.
You should get blood tests done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Avoid giving child any sharp spicy food. Take diet rich in fresh juices and fruits. Drink plenty of water and fluids. You should take anti-allergic medication along with proper course of antibiotic along with Ibuprofen. Avoid intake of outside food.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
