Suggest Treatment For Severe Anxiety After Suffering A Concussion

My 33 yr. old son suffered a concussion 31/2 months ago. He has been seeing a chiropractor who has been doing acupuncture on him, but the problem is his anxiety level is out of control. His wife has had to miss work because he doesn t want to be left alone in fear of blacking out again. He also feels like he is in a fog and that he is dying. His family Physician gave him lorazepam, but it doesn t help. Is it normal for a concussion to last this long? What should the next step be?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Concussion should be followed by CT scan and MRI to determine any bone or brain injury. In case no injury can be ascertained in brain then the anxiety can be unrelated to the concussion injury. I suggest you to consult your neurologist for clinical assessment and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
