Suggest Treatment For Severe Anxiety And Depression While On Trazadone
I am on 50mg of trazadone then started taking chatix to quit smoking within a couple of days I started having severe sweating, my tongue felt like it was on fire and I was off the charts with my normal anxiety and almost felt like I was loosing it especially when my husband was around I would become instantly furious .....only change in med was adding the Chantix so I stopped taking that right away am super concerned what was going on. I went to the dr stopped taking both meds have to start something new tonight for my anxiety and depression she mentioned something about serotonin but was to scared to hear what was wrong afraid I was goin crazy .... so does that mean my serotonin levels were to high? was that why I copuld not be in the same room as my hubby so confused but know that I never want to feel that way again. Still having the sweats and tongue tingling

1. The symptoms you have mentioned and experiencing are probably either withdrawal symptoms [quit smoking] or ADR [adverse drug reaction] of the drug a. chantix [varenicline which is used to treat nicotine addiction and do cause change in thoughts and behavior] like becoming instantly furious on seeing b. trazodone: is a SSRI [selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor] i.e. it inhibits destruction of serotonin in brain which is related with mood, sleep and emotion and serious side effect include neuroleptic malignant syndrome [sweating, unstable blood pressure, autonomic dysfunction] and also cause high level of serotonin in the body [which your doctor was saying] and may cause agitation, fainting, loss of coordination.
2. As the drugs have been stopped by your attending physician thus he must be fully aware of the side effects and any drug drug interaction which might occur with future prescription thus remain under his regular supervision and don't change/alter any drug by yourself.
