Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have been extremely stressed, working 13hour days, for months and recently developed itchy lumps on my hands and very itchy inflamed ears then a few days later, my right side of my face and arm went numb and tingly. and my right leg but less severe than my face and arm. I ve never had lumps like this before or headaches but I ve never been under this much stress. I took a few days off work and the symptoms subsided after sleeping for 28hours and sweating extreme amounts before waking up for 2 hours to change the sheets which were drenched in sweat, then sleeping for another 18 hours. however returning back to work, my inflamed very itchy ears have returned, along with my headaches.
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, these other features are not suggestive of anxiety or depression alone though there is a possibility of autoimmune disorders which may be triggered by anxiety or stress.
A dermatologist opinion and baseline autoimmune and endocrine work up is recommended.
Sometimes soft tissues inflammation caused by systemic vasculitis like SLE may present with both skin features as well as neuropsychiatric symptoms so a Rheumatologist review is best to diagnose if any.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
