Suggest Treatment For Severe Anxiety

Hi my daughter who is 19 is so anxious all the time. Questioning herself, her thoughts and decisions all the time.aftaid of been alone , and can t focus.hates to be out with lots of people, seeing a psychologist every two weeks,but anxiety still extreme. She just can t stop dwelling on everything people say to her, or things she says to people . What is this anxiety And how did this begin?

Hey hi,
Looks like your daughter is suffering from societal anxiety disorder. I would have suggested my patient for an intensive cognitive behavioural therapy aimed at reducing the anxiety. I would also advice to be persistent on this as it takes time for the intervention to show results.
Also, if cognitive behavioural therapy is not giving desired results, I would add fluoxetine(Prozac) or any other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor which can aid in decreasing anxiety.
Please initiate the medications only under consultants evaluation and advise. Hope this helps. Thanks.
