Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can effixxor mask heart pain i have severe aortic stenosis echo ( less than .75 mm ) along with a 50% blockage of the aorta ( angiogram) asymptomatic except for breathlessness on exertion. And i can listen to my heartbeat at night while lying on my side. Echo results have narrowed substantially in last 2 over 16 months
The treatment of choice for symptomatic aortic stenosis is to optimise your Medical Management with adjustments to your blood pressure and cardiac medications and if no improvement over the next 3 months then valve replacement. Which medications are you taking? Have you seen a Cardiac Surgeon for evaluation for possible replacement. These days it can be done through a peripheral vessel and is very minimally invasive.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be happy to discuss it further if you are interested.
Regards, Dr. Sadaf Mustafa
