Suggest Treatment For Severe Asplenia And Tonsilitis
My daughter has congenital asplenia. Aged 22. Recently had severe tonsilitis. Left tonsil still very enlarged and having some difficulty swallowing. She has special needs. Would tonsil be removed? When she was younger I was told that adenoids would not be removed due to asplenia.are tonsils the same?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if the tonsillitis is due to infection then it can be well managed with antibiotic and full course of antibiotic required, if this is not infection and just swelling then it can be managed with Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day and Tab omeprazole 40 mg once in day, no need to go for tonsillectomy hope this information helps
