Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Had a spinal fusion at L5 S1 in 2006, started having severe back pain and leg pain in the past couple of months , now it is daily and comes at any given time. Went to dr. office had xray and now they say I have a 9mm anterolithesis, is there treatment for this? I have had cortisone injections before they do not work for me. Am interested to know what the grading is on the anterolithesis? and should I be worried about another surgery?
If you are having anterolysthesis the first line treatment is NSAIDs and corticosteroid for pain. If the pain is still persistent you can try surgery. A good evaluation is needed including MRI and orthopedic doctor consultation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
