Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain And Fatigue In An Elderly Person
My mother is 85. She has been a healthy 85. She is experiencing overall back pain. Nothing is turning up on back scans. She has significant pain and is experiencing overwhelming fatigue. It was suggested she go to physical therapy, which sje did for awhile but so no relief and was too tired to continue. I've seen her go from very mobile to not wanting to move much at all in just a few months. What should I do?
hi thank you and pleased to answer you In some cases, osteoporosis may be accompanied by pain. Several reasons explain these pains: Spinal fractures can also cause pain. When the column collapses as a result of fractures, it bends and pushes the stomach forward. This affects the ribs, which gradually rely on the pelvic bone. It is the friction of the bones that causes pain. Muscle spasms can also cause pain in people with osteoporosis. This pain is caused by the pinching of the nerves located between the muscles, joints and bones. For some people, microscopic fractures due to thinning of the bones can be painful. Some patients compare them to "a toothache anchored in the bone". It is important to establish an accurate diagnosis of the disease. Degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis are more common causes of chronic back pain than osteoporosis. Through accurate diagnosis, you will be better able to implement a pain management program tailored to your condition. It is therefore imperative to consult a rheumatologist and as soon as possible. Meanwhile, treatment with paracetamol 1 g to take every 8 hours can decrease the pain. best wishes
