General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The patient can be given symptomatic pain relief medication like Panadol 500 mg as and when needed, local pain relief gels and hot compression may also be helpful.

Apart from pain relief, women in post menopausal age group are advised to take regular calcium and vitamin D supplements daily.

Keeping in mind the age of patient, symptoms of bone pain and results of full body scan; suspicion of underlying malignancy of colon or other part of the body must also be evaluated.

In my view, it is better to do some blood work-up like complete blood picture, serum calcium, liver function test and colonoscopy.

As you have not mentioned any complaints like change in bowel habit, weight loss, pain in abdomen; it is difficult to give a differential diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ayesha Shareef
