Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain

My son had an auto mobile accident in May. He has been going to the chiropractor and PT. We seen our family physician again Tuesday who did a Tspine and lumbar x-ray which was negative. He has been having this pain for the duration of the time. Our family physician told us to stop chiro and pt until he can figure out the cause of this pain. it is his lower back and yesterday he played football as he was told he could as there is no diagnosis given yet. He took himself out of the game as his back was hurting extremely. We have tried heat, ice, Ibuprofen, Aleve. He is having MRI tomorrow. Today he can hardly move and says his back is killing him. any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

He should do an MRI and get visited to an orthopedist. I believe the pain is caused by nerve compression. Having rest and having anti-inflammatory drugs such Advil or naproxen is necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
