Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. Recently I went to a ER with a terrible back pain that tylenol wasnt helpoing. After hours of testing and lots of pain pill (via IV) of morphine I became violently ill. I told them i dont tolerate heavy pain meds but was given it anyway and like I told them I vomited violently from it. They came to a conclusion I had colitis and then admitted me and under heavy sedation I agreed because I simply wanted to sleep. The back pain I went to have treated wasnt ever really truly examined and its real cause was simply a back muscle spasm and I treated it with OTC ibuprofen. Once they admitted me they made a direction of no food or water . They continued the morphine and I continued to vomit until I refused to take the morphine anymore and I stopped vomiting. Is nofood or water a legitimate treatment for anything?

Hello, It may be due to muscle sprain. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Do regular physical therapy. In case of not getting relief you may require MRI back after orthopedician consultation. Avoid strenuous activity Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.
