Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain

I was just released from the hospital, after a 4 day stay. Tests performed CTA, EKG, Tilt test, Chest x-ray, tons of bloodwork. Healthy heart but Tilt test stopped 8 minutes in due to bp dropping to 80/0. I have upper back pain between my shoulder blades.. pressure, numbness, tingling and pain. The doctor ordered an MRI of the thoracic area, unfortunately after trying twice I could not handle being inside the 60cm bore. I was released to follow up with my PCP for an open MRI. What is causing the back symptoms if I have a healthy heart? YYYY@YYYY

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a spine-related problem like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression.

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
