Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain

My husband is 81 years old, has had two open heart surgeries and one carotid surgery, plus his second pace maker. He recently visited an orthopedist for help with back pain. The doctor had him get a CT scan, but when he visited the doctor, he never even looked at the results but prescribed therapy and meloxicam. Would this be your recommendation for back pain in an elderly man with heart issues? We were nervous.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it is due to conditions like spine related problems including prolapsed disc or nerve compression. Consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
