Hi,

The diagnosis of typhoid fever is usually confirmed by identifying Salmonella typhi in a culture of your blood or other body fluid or tissue and antibiotic therapy is the only effective treatment for this infection. I agree with the treatment given by your treating doctor.

The two major symptoms of typhoid are fever and rash. Back pain, insomnia and vision problems are not common symptoms that can be attributed to Typhoid.

For the back pain, I suggest to try Acetaminophen 1 tab orally but this medication will not resolve the problem.

In your circumstance, my advice to consult your local doctor because it is necessary to do some blood test and a lumbosacral spine X-ray to reach the right diagnosis that explains your actual symptoms.

Hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
