Suggest Treatment For Severe Bruising And Swelling On The Hand Post Injury

Punched a wall hand bruised and swelled really bad within an hour I can barely move it.. the doc said I fits all the categories for a fracture but the xray didn t show a fracture. My knuckles are black 3 days later and it s so painful to move. The swelling hasn t gone down either on the middle of my hand but has a bit on the knuckles.. my pinky knuckle now creaking when I move it also.. could they have missed the break on the xray? It s also still really painful mainly my pinky finger and ring.

Hello,

Maybe you need another x-ray since it seems like broken taking count all your symptoms. Possibly they missed the fracture sign in first x-ray.

Put ice on it, use anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil or Paracetamol for pain. Keep it elevated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
