Hi Dr I caught a sever cold about 1 month ago.I had fever, cough and infection in nose and throat and sinus. I went to the doctor and he prescribed cefixim but it didn t work. Then I use azithromycin and then co-amoxiclave.Now I am better but still I have post-nasal discharge and occasional coughing. What should I do? Is it serious? Is it sinusitis?
You may be suffering from chronic upper respiratory tract infection with post nasal discharge. It may due chronic sinusitis or chronic recurrent tonsillitis or chronic allergies. Avoid cool drinks and ice creams, use tablet Monterleukast and Levocetrizine for five days. Use water vapour inhalation thrice a day for five days. Avoid cool drinks and ice creams. If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
