Hi,

Antibiotics are needed only if there is clinical or lab evidence of a bacterial infection and you are already taking a preferred antibiotic that is Amoxy-clav. For severe cold I would suggest you topical nasal decongestant nasal drops.

Also, take an antihistamine that helps to reduce the phlegm. Take plain water steam inhalation. Bed rest and avoid anything you are allergic or hypersensitive to. Rest of the specific management will be given once you get examined and investigated by your doctor.
