Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough Along With Sinusitis

I got a cold 12 days ago after 6 I went to the clinic and got put on augmentin. Its been 5 days and it won t go away still coughing and sinus filled with which green mucus. I don t have insurance or really have the money to go to doctor again. I already lost 5 days of work. Any recommendations would help

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you may need to switch antibiotics if these were not effective. Using macrolides or quinolones can be helpful. My choice would be azithromycin or moxifloxacin. If the problem persists, a chest X-ray and X-ray PNS may be needed.

Surgical drainage may be required by an otolaryngologist if the problem persists.

Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen alongwith antihistamines like cetrizine or loratadine may be helpful for symptomatic relief. Steam inhalation should be ensured.
