Hi,
I am sorry for the health problems you are going through.
Coughing, chest congestion are signs of flu you've acquired. Chest congestion could be due to
severe coughing you've experienced.
Nyquil you take at night is a cold formula containing analgesic (
acetaminophen); cough suppressant (
Dextromethorphan HBr) and anti-histamine (Doxylamine succinate).
Robitussin dm is an expectorant containing
guaifenesin, it will help dissolve phlegm and relieve your blocked airways.
You've added Claritin (loratadine), another anti-histaminic at night. Altogether they will help relieve the symptoms of flu you are going through now.
Sometimes, the Eustachian tube gets blocked when having cold. This explains the episode you experienced at work.
Furthermore, when coughing, there is a lot of pressure inside the chest wall, that could have caused compression of the nearby nerves. This explains the numbness/tingling in face and upper body you experienced at work.
That is temporary, continue taking meds regularly. Apply vapu rub on the chest to get cough relief.
Aerosol therapy can also help. Take hot shower more frequently.
Yawning and chewing gum can help with clogged ears.
It will persist for few more days, should consult with
ENT specialist.
Wish fast recovery.
